As part of the Victorian Government's $145 million investment in Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) facility infrastructure, the VICSES Wonthaggi Unit has been relocated to 89 White Road, Wonthaggi.

The VICSES Wonthaggi Unit, which comprises 13 active members, responded to more than 70 requests for assistance in 2023-24.

Situated in the local government area of Bass Coast, the new site enables the Wonthaggi Unit and surrounding units to continue to respond effectively to the local community and assist Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria and fire services throughout the state.

The new fit-for-purpose facility reflects VICSES' commitment and dedication to the local community and enable an expansion of local services, while supporting the retention and recruitment of new volunteers.

In collaboration with VICSES, considerable consultation took place with the Wonthaggi Unit, as well as the local council, affected parties and the local community (as required), to ensure that the new facility meets the needs of a growing community, now and into the future.
