As part of the Victorian Government's $125 million investment in Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) facility infrastructure, a new fit-for-purpose facility will be delivered for the VICSES Cobram Unit at 34 Ritchie Road, Cobram, with street frontage on to Cobram-Koonoomoo Road.
Situated in the local government area of Moira, the new site will enable the Cobram Unit to continue to respond effectively to rescues, flood and storm and serve the local community through assistance to Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria and fire services throughout the state.
The Cobram Unit, which comprises 19 active members, responded to more than 58 requests for assistance in 2019-20.
The new fit-for-purpose facility will reflect the commitment and dedication of VICSES to the local community and enable an expansion of local services, while supporting the retention and recruitment of new volunteers.
In collaboration with VICSES, we are undertaking consultation with the Cobram Unit, as well as the local council, affected parties and the community (as required), to ensure that the new facility meets the needs of a growing community, now and into the future.
