As part of the Victorian Government's $125 million investment in Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) infrastructure, the VICSES Corio facility at Anakie Road, Lovely Banks will be refurbished.
The Corio Unit responded to more than 180 requests for assistance in 2018-19 and is one of four VICSES units in the City of Greater Geelong.
The refurbished facility will enable the VICSES Corio Unit to continue to respond effectively to the local community and assist Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria and fire services throughout the state.
The upgraded fit-for-purpose facility will reflect VICSES' commitment and dedication to the local community and enable an expansion of local services, while supporting the retention and recruitment of new volunteers.
In collaboration with VICSES, we are undertaking considerable consultation with the Corio Unit, as well as the local council, affected parties and the local community (as required), to ensure that the new facility meets the needs of a growing community, now and into the future.
