As part of the Victorian Government's $125 million investment in Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) facility infrastructure, the VICSES Northcote Unit will be relocated from Wingrove Street, Alphington to 102 Altona Street, Heidelberg Heights and the adjoining property at 446 Waterdale Road.

Upon operational readiness, the Unit will be renamed from VICSES Northcote to VICSES Heidelberg, reflecting the new address.

VICSES Northcote volunteers are among the most active in Victoria, responding to more than 600 requests for assistance in 2018-19.

Situated in the local government area of Banyule, the new site will enable the Northcote Unit to continue to respond effectively to the local community and assist Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria and fire services throughout the state.

The new fit-for-purpose facility will reflect VICSES' commitment and dedication to the local community and enable an expansion of local services, while supporting the retention and recruitment of new volunteers.

In collaboration with VICSES, we are undertaking considerable consultation with the Northcote Unit, as well as the local council, affected parties and the local community (as required), to ensure that the new facility meets the needs of a growing community, now and into the future.
