The Wonthaggi Life Saving Club (LSC) was constructed in 1958, and is located at 14 Bay Beach Road in the seaside village of Cape Paterson in Bass Coast Shire.
The LSC was severely damaged by a localised storm cell event at Cape Paterson on 10 May 2019, with subsequent stormwater flooding to the site and clubhouse buildings.
Wonthaggi LSC received $0.175 million to install two portable shipping containers on site to act as temporary facilities.
Ongoing consultations are taking place with Life Saving Victoria and the Community Safety Building Authority to ensure funding meets the needs of the growing local community, now and into the future.
