In the 2019-20 mid-year State Budget Update, the Victorian Government allocated $440,000 for the construction of the Port Campbell Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) memorial deck to honour Ross and Andrew Powell's contribution to the Port Campbell SLSC, local emergency services and Corangamite community.
Situated in the local government area of Corangamite Shire, Port Campbell SLSC was established in 1963 and has played an important role in ensuring the safety of local swimmers. The club also provides a coastal rescue service along 60 kilometres of The Shipwreck Coast of Victoria.
Ongoing consultations are taking place in collaboration with the Corangamite Shire, Parks Victoria and the Port Campbell SLSC to ensure the extension meets the needs of the growing local community, now and into the future.
