In the 2017-18 State Budget, the Victorian Government contributed $1.0 million for the construction of the new Brighton Surf Life Saving Club (LSC) facility.
Situated in the local government area of Bayside, the Brighton LSC plays an important role in the safety of swimmers and beachgoers, and the new clubhouse will ensure lifesavers have the facilities they need to respond to incidents and keep people safe in the water.
This new fit-for-purpose facility will reflect the commitment and dedication of club volunteers to the local community and enable an expansion of local services while supporting the retention and recruitment of new volunteers.
The new clubhouse will feature increased storage areas and public amenities.
Bayside City Council is continuing to undertake considerable consultation with the local community, as well as affected parties, to ensure that the new facility meets the needs of a growing local community, now and into the future.
