In the 2018-19 State Budget, the Victorian Government allocated $2.0 million for the construction of the new Black Rock Life Saving Club (LSC) facility.
Situated in the local government area of Bayside, the Black Rock LSC plays an important role in the safety of swimmers and beachgoers, and the new clubhouse will ensure lifesavers have the facilities they need to respond to incidents and keep people safe in the water.
This new fit-for-purpose facility will reflect the commitment and dedication of club volunteers to the local community and enable an expansion of local services, while supporting the retention and recruitment of new volunteers.
The new clubhouse will provide volunteer lifesavers with more space to support their lifesaving services, while local residents and visitors to the popular beach will also have access to the facility, making it an important community hub.
Bayside City Council is undertaking considerable consultation with Black Rock LSC, as well as affected parties and the local community, to ensure that the new facility meets the needs of a growing local community, now and into the future.
