We're delivering a new emergency services hub to support the critical work of the Mallacoota Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES), Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) and Australian Volunteer Coast Guard (AVCG) Flotilla.
The Mallacoota emergency services provide assistance to thousands of Victorians every year - managing fires, floods, storms, and rescues.
During the summer of 2019-20, Mallacoota was severely impacted by the Eastern Victoria Fires, ravaging homes, businesses and infrastructure. The availability of a modern, fit-for-purpose emergency services precinct will support volunteers in keeping the community safe.
In planning and constructing this facility, we are working closely with VICSES, the SLSC and AVCG, as well as engaging with local communities, councils, and other stakeholders. Delivering this emergency services hub will provide greater connection for the community, boost support for tourism opportunities and increase emergency management preparedness and response capability.
