Engine replacements

Throughout Victoria

As part of the 2017-18 State Budget, the Victorian Government allocated $775,000 for the upgrade of new engines for Marine Search and Rescue vessels across the State.

Marine Search and Rescue crews play an important role in the safety of water users in their local area, responding to marine emergencies and raising community awareness about marine safety. All engine upgrades funded through the program are now complete and in use, ensuring search-and-rescue vessels meet required standards. This enables committed and dedicated volunteers to continue the important work of servicing their local community and assisting other emergency service agencies.

The Marine Search and Rescue Office within Emergency Management Victoria is in regular communication with flotillas throughout the state to ensure volunteers are provided with the vessels and equipment they need to keep their local community safe on the water.
